Sunday Stash No. 6

From Swell by Urban Chicks.  It’s the only fabric I have although I love their whole range.  Lots of the decorating at Sewjourn is based around their previous range, ‘Blossom’ and their newest range ‘1974′ is gorgeous too.

Amy again

Here’s some more photos and inspiration from The Evening with Amy Butler - if you are in Sydney and don’t have tickets yet it’s well worth the effort!  She talked us through a slide show of what inspires her and then answered questions and even signed books and chatted.  As usual all the goodies made from her beautiful fabrics were gorgeous.

Amy

Just spent a lovely night with Amy Butler.  What an inspirational lady!  She is so down to earth and nice!  Not to mention talented, beautiful, creative, motivated……..I could go on.  She even took the time to sign books and chat to people.

Here’s a quick photo or two that a friend sent through (thanks Kerry) - I’ll download mine tomorrow and post some more.

It was a bonus to meet a couple of lovely bloggers, Lara and Nicole, too.  Now to use my motivation to get sewing again instead of just reading about it on blogs…………..

Sunday Stash on a Monday this time

Whoops - late two weeks in a row!

It has to be  Amy Butler fabrics this week as she is in Melbourne and I am going to see her on Thursday night - can’t wait!!!!

These are recent additions to my stash from her Daisy Chain range.

This one is for a lap top bag.

And these two will probably become cushions for our bed - the quilt on our bed is made from Amy’s first range of fabric Gypsy Caravan and these match in nicely.

Sorry about the poor quality of photos but a busy weekend and rotten cold mean I am too tired to play around to get better photos!  I will try to post Sunday Stash on the correct day next week girls.

Creative coasters

I’m amazed at the fantastic coasters some lovely girls have made whilst they have been at Sewjourn…….no ‘just follow the pattern’ for these ladies!  Mal has suggested mounting them on a board to display them….maybe?  Thanks so much everyone, I hope you had fun making them.

Birthday treats

Daughter No. 2 is turning 8 tomorrow - where does the time go???  And these are the treats that are going to school for her class……..

Happy Birthday sweet Lucy!

Sunday stash on a Wednesday

My excuse is that I was away on Sunday with no internet access!  So here goes……..

Bought this gorgeous panel on our day out.  It’s Recess from American Jane.  Nice easy ‘cheats’ way to do a lap quilt for the lounge area at Sewjourn……even had thoughts of handquilting it (but those that know me - Dale and Suzie) will laugh at that!

My own retreat

Just had a wonderful long weekend here

We did a bit of gardening (but much much more needed) - a few spots are looking good though……..

Went on a family bike ride to Romsey (8kms but a great bike track all the way) and everyone did really well, even in the rain on the way home!   The fit one in our family didn’t have much sympathy for my sore backside given that he’d riden from Melbourne to Lancefield the day before (and back today). The girls and I also went for walks every morning which is one of their favorite things when we are in Lancefield.

Mal couldn’t resist doing a few more ‘handyman jobs’ - and we have a sliding fly screen door at the back to show for it…………

I also got some much overdue ‘crafty time’ - luxury having the whole studio to myself!

I would have finished this simple quilt top (fabrics purchased this day) had I not left one of the fabrics at home!  Got some more yoyos done for the curtain in one of the bedrooms - only about half way along though…………

………and made some ‘Welcome’ cards for the next few lots of guests to stay.

And the winners are……..

I’m sure my husband, the e-Business guru, will laugh at the way we drew this giveaway - he would have some computer generated program but the girls and I thought this was the fun way………all the names were cut up and put in a bowl that belonged to my grandmother and drawn out by the girls.

And the four lucky girls are…………..

So, Curly Pops, Suse, Bronwyn and Kylie - I’m looking forward to meeting you all (and remeeting you Bronwyn since we just discovered yesterday that we knew each other about 10 years ago!) and spending a FUN day together at Sewjourn.  I’ll be in touch with details.  Thanks to everyone for entering the giveaway and for all your kind comments.

Phew, the end of Blogtoberfest (thanks Big Cat for the suggestion and prompting me to post more often).  I think that means a couple of days off from blogging for me!  We are going to Sewjourn for four days anyway - a few more jobs on the ‘to do’ list there as well as some R&R I hope.

A little bit of crafting…..

Not as much as I would like but did make Birthday Party invitations for my daughter and her friend this afternoon using the Stampin’ Up! goodies - LOVE the big wheely stamp! The design I have is So Swirly and it looks gorgeous no matter what I do it on - and it’s SO quick and easy.  I’d upload a photo but after last night’s computer probs I doubt it’s advisable!  Also made a few more yoyos tonight for the curtain for sewjourn - still only about 2/3 of the way there though I think.

One more day until I draw the giveaway - leave a comment if you would like to enter and haven’t already done so.
