Lancefield is a small and charming town of about 1200 people which is situated in a rolling agricultural landscape at the geographic centre of Victoria. It’s attractive streetscape boasts a wide central plantation full of evergreens and there are a number of intact 19th-century buildings.
From Lancefield you can explore Hanging Rock, Mount Macedon and the many surrounding wineries or shop for antiques in the historic 3-storey Macedonia Antiques Centre. The High Street has some interesting shops and once a month there is a Farmer’s Market on the centre plantation.
